Your first day as a Speechie
It’s your first week as a qualified Speech Pathologist. You’re excited… and a little nervous. You’ve studied for years, but the thought of managing your own caseload feels big.

At Ability WA, you won’t be thrown in the deep end. Instead, you’ll shadow experienced clinicians, learn the ropes alongside other new grads, and have a mentor to answer any questions you have.

By the end of your first month, you’ll feel more confident, more capable, and you’ll know you’re part of a team that’s got your back.

Our Graduate Program

Over 2 years, we’ll support you to grow from graduate to confident clinician through:

  • Shadowing & observation: Intensive in your first 2 weeks, plus ongoing
  • Supervision with team leader: Intensely over the first 6 weeks, then 6 weekly ongoing
  • Mentoring: One-on-one support from an experienced Speech Pathologist; access timely clinical support and inspiration on your career pathway
  • Professional development: Clinical Lead catch-ups aligned with our 2-year PD schedule
  • Peer support: Buddy up with another new starter and join new starter round tables
  • Speech Pathologist community: Monthly meetings for shared learning
