About the position
We are on the lookout for Employment Consultants who are passionate about making a difference to join our Employment Services team.
We have multiple permanent part-time opportunities available, based at either our Murdoch or Cloverdale location.
Ability WA delivers Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) services in partnership with CoAct, a national employment services provider. Through this partnership, we combine our expertise in supporting people with disability with contemporary employment services to help participants achieve meaningful and sustainable employment outcomes.
As an Employment Consultant, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support throughout the employment journey, from initial engagement and employment preparation through to job placement and ongoing support. You will work collaboratively with participants, employers, community organisations and CoAct to identify and overcome barriers to employment and create meaningful pathways into work.
As an Employment Consultant, you will:
- Manage an active caseload, providing personalised coaching, employment preparation and capacity-building support
- Support participant intake and onboarding, identifying individual employment goals, needs and barriers
- Build strong relationships with employers and industry to identify inclusive employment opportunities
- Match participants with suitable vacancies and coordinate recruitment, work experience, work trials and employment placements
- Provide ongoing support to participants and employers to promote successful and sustainable employment outcomes
- Build relationships with community organisations and other stakeholders to increase employment opportunities and referrals
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with IEA, CoAct and Ability WA requirements
- Contribute to service performance, compliance and continuous improvement activities
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Experience in employment services, disability services, recruitment, workforce development, community services or a related sector
- Strong case management and relationship management skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with participants, employers and other stakeholders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience supporting people who may face barriers to employment
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and client management systems
- An understanding of disability inclusion, accessibility and person-centred practice
Previous experience within Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA), Disability Employment Services or another government-funded employment program will be highly regarded. A relevant qualification in Employment Services, Community Services, Disability Services, Human Services, Career Development, Business or a related discipline is also desirable.

- Current and valid C Class driver's licence
- Nationally accredited First Aid Certificate
- National Police Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain one
- Right to work in Australia
