About the position

As a Therapy Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering group and individual therapy programs in diverse settings, including customers’ homes, community spaces, educational environments, and swimming pools. You’ll work closely with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Exercise Physiologists and other allied health professionals, ensuring therapy sessions run smoothly and effectively.

This is a rewarding, hands-on role where you’ll support individuals of all ages, helping them achieve their goals and realise their abilities.

This position is Part Time (0.8 full time equivalent), Fixed Term (to 31/12/25) based in Coolbinia. To assist with groups and classes, including water based therapy, you will need to be available at least 2 days until 6pm. 

As a Therapy Assistant, you will:

  • Assist therapists in delivering therapy programs.
  • Contribute to the preparation of therapy resources and equipment, to ensure individual and community programs run effectively.
  • Effectively liaise with customers, families, carers, colleagues and community to ensure a coordinated therapy service

What you’ll need to kickstart your journey with us:

  • Qualification: Certificate IV in Disability Work (or equivalent) or Allied Health Assistant OR extensive experience supporting people with disabilities OR completing a relevant allied health tertiary qualification (e.g. Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy)
  • Experience: Previous experience working with people living with disabilities
  • Skills: Ability to deliver services following handover from therapists independently and as directed by the treating therapist
  • Compliance Requirements: National Police Clearance no older than 6 months, Current Driver’s Licence, NDIS Workers Orientation Module, NDIS Worker Screening check, Current Working with Children Check, Nationally accredited First Aid Certificate, COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
