Telecommunications Officer

About the Position:

Ability WA is looking for an experienced Telecommunications Officer to join our team Full-Time.

As a Telecommunications Officer within Ability WA’s ICT Team, you will support all users of our telecommunications technology within the organisation. If you are passionate about building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders representing Ability WA, this is the opportunity for you.

In this role, you support and administer all aspects of telecommunications across the organisation, including:

  • Provide technical support and maintenance for the VOIP PABX system, along with associated hardware and software.
  • Manage the Mobile Device Management (MDM) platform by configuring and maintaining profiles, enrolling and disenrolling devices, and implementing updates for all organizational and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) devices.
  • Adhere to organizational financial processes and delegations when procuring devices.
  • Keep accurate records of all telecommunications costs.
  • Maintain an up-to-date asset register for all assets, tracking them from procurement to replacement and/or disposal.
  • Respond to calls at the ICT Service Desk during scheduled hours and when on-call.
  • Coordinate with external contractors, vendors, and suppliers as needed.
  • Engage in proactive capacity planning to address future requirements that meet business needs.
  • Develop and maintain management reports.
  • Collaborate with relevant ICT staff to ensure Service Desk coverage during advertised hours.
  • Oversee all organizational mobile devices from procurement to disposal.
  • Participate in ICT projects as required.

About You:​

 

  • Demonstrated experience working in a similar role and/or significant progress or completion of relevant qualifications.
  • Substantial knowledge of communications technology (both voice and data); mobile device management platforms and mobile devices.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good time organisational and time management skills and the ability to recognise priorities.
  • Ability to effectively contribute to the team's aspirations and performance; and to work independently as required.

  • Has the right to work in Australia with the ability to obtain a National Police Check.
  • Current "C" class driver’s license
  • National Police Clearance no older than 6 months,
  • Current Driver’s Licence,
  • NDIS Workers Orientation Module,
  • NDIS Worker Screening check
  • COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
